Melkia
Last updated: 29 April 2026
Melkia denotes a customary form of land tenure in Morocco evidenced by a notarial deed (acte adoulaire) certified by two adoul. Melkia property is unregistered with the Conservation Foncière and is the historically dominant tenure regime in medinas, peri-urban areas, and rural land. Conversion to a titre foncier requires the immatriculation procedure under Law 39-08.
